It also can mask the relationship that Jesus has with the individual. It's a problem with the English language that others don't have - in English there is no singular 3rd person pronoun that is gender-neutral. As in other things, it's a judgement call.

I also use the Source New Testament for the same thing. As to the chapter on Adam, I'm really puzzled. Did I actually read what I think I did that when God created Adam he was a mixture of male and female?!

Anyway if that's not what she said I am willing to stand corrected. Many times I find her right on. Sometimes she is WAY off the mark. Her books will get a person to thinking.

This one deals with a legitimate issue in Bible translation, but I still believe that it can be carried way to extremes on both sides. A couple of other books of hers I can't recommend, but that's a topic for another day. These scholars start with a bias but pretend to offer objective truth this book is like many others in that it offers no new truth just more justification for the rebellion of those who would tell God what to do because He is not politically correct!

Get over yourselves God is not subject to human opinions and views as He is not a politician running for office, in the end it is He who judges us and not we ourselves. The human mind can argue and justify any point of view and often does but in the end we all answer to God and not He to us!!! There are so many translations and mistranslations of the Bible where does one start?

The truth is the most important meaning of the Bible is spiritual and not physical and spiritual truth is revealed by God himself to all of those that obey Him which is a point the scholars of this world miss, human reasoning not withstanding!

Nyland, Ann

The most important parts of the Bible are: God is supreme and in charge of all creation and that we all answer to Him if one does not know this then the rest is irrelevant by comparison that is why Christ said they strain at a gnat and swallow a camel yes we argue over small points and fail to comprehend the big picture which is most important!
